2018-2019 National and Developmental Team Announcement

Telemark Ski Canada Telemark would like to extend warm congratulations to the following athletes for being named to our teams.  This year we continue to have many veterans returning as well as three new faces.

National Telemark Team

Antoine (Tony) Bélanger-Morin is named to the National Team for a third straight year.  Tony hails from Ville St. Laurent, Québec and trains in the Laurentides region of Québec.  Tony, will once again, be racing in North America as well as in Europe in the Telemark World Cup and World junior Championships.

Developmental Team

Mikael-André Dansereau hails from St. André d’Argenteuil and is a veteran of the Developmental Team.  Mikael trains in the Laurentides region of Québec.  Last year, Mikael enjoyed a positive experience racing in his first World Cup races in Vermont.  He will continue to race within North America.

Lynn Roy also a returning veteran, she is from St. André d’Argenteuil and trains in the Laurentides region of Québec.   Lynn is an experienced racer, racing in Canadian and American races.  Lynn will continue to race in the North American venue.

Marie Boudreau hails from Rimouski, Québec but now lives in Québec City.  She trains primarily in the Québec City region.  This is Marie’s third year on the Developmental team.  Last year, she raced in the Telemark World Cup races in Vermont but was then sidelined by an injury.  She has been training very hard during the offseason and is prepared to return to North American racing.

René-Luc Morin lives in Ville St. Laurent, Québec.  He is also a returning veteran of the Developmental team who brings with him many years of North American and European racing experience.  René_Luc raced in North American FIS races last year, as well as the World Cup races in Vermont.  He is the father of National Team member Antoine, therefore there is a fierce family competition as to who is the better/faster skier.

Francis Tremblay lives in Ottawa, Ontario.  He skis and trains primarily is the Laurentides region of Québec.  Many ski days you can find him skiing with his family at Mont Tremblant.  Francis made his Telemark racing debut in 2012 at Mont Tremblant.  In 2018, at the USTSA Karbon Nationals at Crotched Mountain last March, Francis placed fourth in the citizens category.   This is Francis’s first year on the team.

Xavier Tremblay is the youngest member of the Developmental Team.  He lives with his family in Ottawa and skis mostly at Mont Tremblant.  He will be training in the Laurentide region of Québec this winter and racing in North American circuit.  Xavier also made his Telemark racing debut in 2012 at Mont Tremblant.  Last March he attended the USTSA Karbon Nationals at Crotched Mountain, NH. where he finished fourth in the Junior category of the Parallel Sprint race.  This is also Xavier’s first season on the team.

Renaud Dion-Bouchard lives in Jonquière, Québec and skis and trains primarily at Mont Edouard.  This is Renaud’s first year on the team, however he is veteran of Telemark racing.  He has been a member of Telemark Québec since 2014 and has raced many times in Telemark and free-ride races.  Renaud will be racing in North American Telemark races this winter.

On behalf of the Telemark Ski Canada Telemark Board of Directors and its Provincial members, I would like to wish all racers a successful and injury free racing season.
